Mrs. Akao, Principal

Hello Foussat Language Academy Families, Staff, and Community Members,

It is an honor to serve as the Principal of Foussat Language Academy. As an Oceanside native, I am proud to serve the community that helped shape me and am committed to supporting our school's mission of academic excellence, bilingualism and biliteracy, and success for every student. I attended Mission Elementary, Jefferson Middle School, and Oceanside High School, so it is especially meaningful to have the opportunity to give back to the community that invested in my own education.

I bring more than 20 years of experience in education, having served as an elementary and middle school teacher, an MTSS Teacher on Assignment (TOSA), an English Learner TOSA, and an assistant principal at Reynolds and Mission Elementary Schools. I hold two master's degrees; one in Education with a Reading Specialist Credential and one in Educational Administration, and remain a lifelong learner dedicated to helping students and educators thrive.

I look forward to partnering with you as we make this a wonderful year of learning and growth for all.

Hello Foussat Language Academy Community!

I am the proud new Assistant Principal of this beautiful school! I grew up in Oceanside, and I am thrilled to be back serving in this wonderful community. Over the past decade as an educator, mentor, and administrative leader, my heart has always been rooted in creating a safe, inclusive, and high achieving environment where every student can thrive. My background in Two-Way Bilingual Immersion teaching, student support systems, and instructional coaching guides my work in creating an inclusive campus culture where every child feels valued, challenged, and supported.

As a firm believer in parent partnership, I look forward to collaborating with our families to celebrate student growth and navigate any challenges together. Whether in English or Spanish, please feel free to say hello during morning drop-off or reach out anytime. I am so excited for a wonderful school year ahead!
